A little bit of history...
Gopher-It Cares (formerly Ottawa Cares) began as an initiative of the Manor Park Community Council and several community associations in March 2020 as an emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Emergency Food Delivery is a service that has been desperately needed by vulnerable community members in Ottawa for many years. With the success of the first year, funding was granted to continue this much needed service permanently.
In April 2022, Ottawa Cares found a temporary home with the Ottawa Food Bank.
In March 2023, Gopher-It, a local courier company, began their not for profit branch. Ottawa Cares moved under that umbrella and is now called Gopher-It Cares.
